Wonderful flavors in the food. Nice atmosphere, decor is not the greatest, but the food is well worth some outdated decor. Quick service and delivery of food. Awesome spring rolls.

Who would have thought you would find such an awesome Thai restaurant in Sioux City? Great food, great service by the couple that own it, and reasonable prices....a home run!

Incredible Thai food. The owner and his wife are very nice people who will make sure you enjoy your meal. I like the Pad Thai but all of their entrees are good. For an appetizer, you can't go wrong with the Satay chicken. The sticky rice is also a treat. I love their Thai iced tea as well.

What can I say, but this has fast become my favorite place in town. The owner, who doubles as the waiter, is very friendly and eager to please. The good is quite good, only limited by the scarcity of good, fresh produce in the area. Highly recommended!

I love everything about this restaurant. The food is second to none. The service is impeccable. I love taking people for their first visit. Definitely have the fresh rolls and any of the wok noodles!

Being Asian, I always think I can make everything taste just as good at home whenever I go out to eat at Asian restaurants. It still amazes me going into Diamond Thai with this mentality that I am absolutely bedazzled by the feakingly delicious fresh spring rolls. They are super tiny but SO GOOD. I casually examine it before devouring it in ten seconds. The Tom Yum soup is good (but make sure to ask for a side of rice), the Pad See Ewe is a little dryer than I expected but if you want more sauce get the entre with "Thai Gravy", its the same thing but with a butt-load of brown sauce. They have the best Thai Ice Tea in town. I drank Thai ice tea as long as I've used a fork. If you have not had it in a long time since you've moved here to Sioux City, you'll think it's off, but that's how it's suppose to taste (I've sipped everyone else's at the table, only to prove my paranoia incorrect). The Mom & Pop duo here are as friendly as an Asian couple can be working day in and day out. I expect them to get tired and not treat everyone nicely someday, but they are on it. They treat everyone with a smile and polite service. I always want to rearrange the decor, but you just have to deal with it. Great place to eat something new with friends and family. Average person including thai ice tea is about 10 bucks per meal before tip.

The best Thai restaurant I have been to! The pad-thai here was phenomenal. Will have to make the hour long trip up here to try this again

Came 40 minutes before close and they were vacuuming and seemed to want us to rush and didn't consider stopping the cleaning process even though there were customers in the place. Waitress was efficient but not pleasant by any means. We are keeping our fingers crossed for the food. 3 of the dishes came out together. One was a little behind. All food was very good!

I live in Omaha and frequent Sioux City (2 - 5 times a week) there are a number of places we would like to stop and try. But we continue to stop at Diamond Thai. My partner and I have been going there for 5 years. I have ordered everything on the menu and aside from personal preference of not liking boiled celery I love all the dishes. The staff is more than friendly. They know us on a first name basis. They always give us our water and even though for 5 years we have said "just surprise me" they still ask if there is anything in particular we would like. I love Diamond Thai and would recommend it to anyone. My personal favorites Appetizer: Crispy wings Fresh spring rolls Entree: Pad Kra Praow Red Curry

I wanted to like this place, given that it's Sioux City's preeminent Thai restaurant - but it just wasn't good. The food, compared to Thai food I've had elsewhere in the country, was just bad. On the upside, the wait staff was very nice, and the food was very cheap. I ordered the Tom Kha Soup and some cream cheese and crab wontons as an appetizer. The Tom Kha had a lot of shredded lettuce in it, a feature I've never seen in other Tom Khas (I've ordered way too much Tom Kha in my life). The cream cheese and crab wontons had very little filling. The bad food is what really did this place in, and I didn't come back again on my many weeks in town for business.

The Thai Tumeric Crepe appetizer was amazing. Loved the fresh slaw on the side. The traditional pad Thai was really good and a large portion for lunch. The Thai coconut soup was also very good. Thank you to all the reviewers for leading us to this hidden gem. Don't let the neighborhood scare you away from some really good food.

Amazing pho and the best spring rolls in town. The staff are very nice, and recognize regulars very well. Never had a bad experience there, eat there almost once a week.

Love the fried and fresh spring rolls. The Pad Thai is a must have. I would recommend Diamond Thai to everyone.

If you can get past the outside appearance and get through the door, you are guaranteed to enjoy your experience here. I've never had a disappointment with these guys. The service is always good..an A for effort, that's for sure! The dining area is always clean. And between my husband and I we've ordered almost everything on their vast menu and have yet to find something that wasn't good. Rumor has it, they don't use MSG either..another bonus in my book. I think my favorite is the spicy basil fried rice. If you like spicy but still wanna be able to eat your food without sweating go for medium ;)

Just moved to the area and this place is delish. Almost as good as the Thai back home in Chicago.

This is, by far, my favorite restaurant in Sioux City! They're extremely friendly, and serve amazing food. Diamond Thai has an extensive menu, featuring curry dishes, honey roasted duck, and many other delicious options. There is something for everyone here. I recommend the Pumpkin Curry with Chicken, spicy!

I can die a happy man. This food was glorious. The Pho was so good and the sticky rice and mango is like crack. I am not even from around here but if I was I would be broke from eating here every day. Plus the lady that works there is so friendly!

Just got off a plane from San Francisco, drove up from Omaha, and found this gem. Only person here on a Sunday night but I was welcomed, seated, and served a delicious Pad Thai. Friendly staff, clearly a small family run restaurant. I'd definitely come back the next time I'm the the area!

Mmm, the fresh rolls with beef. The golden bags (#3) are also great if you've got 3 or 4 people with you. The peanut dipping sauce was delicious. I had the Number 55 (Pad Thai Chicken) and it was amazing. I didn't really understand the waitress but she was nice as could be. We just sort of hoped and prayed we'd get good food. The decor is a little much, but for how good the food is and service is, it didn't really matter. Nice little gem in Sioux City.

Spring Rolls for appetizers. A must! Very fresh and flavorful. The Green Chicken Curry as my main course was excellent. Fresh green beans, boo shoots, green peppers, and basil. My husband had Pad Prick Prow. Calamari, scallops and shrimp with fresh vegetables in a medium spice red sauce. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The owner and his wife are very pleasant and personable too. Very casual atmosphere.

Diamond Thai is a true "diamond in the rough." It's not in a picturesque part of town (if there is such a thing in Sioux City) nor is the building much to look at. The dining room is "intimate" though not horribly cramped. The owners have made the most with the dinky place on a shoestring budget, and the decor is cute and very clean. Where they obviously don't skimp is on the quality of the food, which is excellent. Whether you want it mild, "native hot" or somewhere in between, there are many delicious options and flavors. I had the Creamy Tom Yum soup and Pork Dumplings and Vegetables in a Clay Pot. A variety "heat" options were served on the side. I will return whenever I'm in town.

I love this place. It's such a jewel for Sioux City to have. The food is authentic and amazing. The owner/staff are all very friendly. They have a smaller facility so during the lunch or dinner rush it can get pretty packed. Its off the main path so easy to look over but definitely worth the trip to seek it out and try their food.

Note that they recently remodeled. New flooring and wall decorations. Good to see some money invested into the dining area. The changes were small but made a big impact in overall appearance.

Driving across country from NYC to Portland and stopped here...the most AMAZING Thai food we've ever had! Homemade authentic and fresh. Spices were great, make sure you get mild if you don't like spice as medium was hot hot hot, but good hot! The owner was super friendly and a great host!! Highly recommend!

I've been a vegetarian for many years, so I can't believe I had never tried this place before. My husband and I ordered carryout - I played it safe with fried tofu and sautéed vegetarian, and he chose the sweet and savory chicken. The food was prepared really quickly, it was ready by the time we got there to pick it up. Maybe this place was just over-hyped to me, but I wasn't bowled over by the food. The tofu was cooked on the outside, but the inside was still slimy. The peanut dipping sauce was amazing, tho. My vegetables were pretty tasteless and were mostly just woody bamboo. My husband said his chicken was tasteless and dry. We paid over $20 for two entrees and a small appetizer. I would possibly try another dish there, but overall I was pretty disappointed.

It's not a one, but I had to even out the average. It is not a five. It's more like a three. For authenticity I would give it a four.

We have been going there since they opened. Have since moved away from Sioux City, but go there whenever we are in town. The curries are the best you will find anywhere, and the spicy wok noodles are my favorite on days I don't feel like curry. It is in an older part of the city, but who cares. The food is great.

I first came upon this place just after it opened. We showed up early and had the place to ourselves. The staff was great and was very informative on what they had to offer. I went with the Pad Thai, and was impressed. Even if you're not an "adventurous" eater, or if you don't like spicy food, there is something for you. I can't possibly explain how incredible their peanut sauce is, and the curry is awesome. The price is fantastic as well, with lots of meals under $10. They also offer a variety of vegetarian options. more at siouxcityreviews.wordpre…

Been all over and nothing compares to Pete's Thai. The pumpkin curry is like no other. Nicely spiced with big chunks of pumpkin and basil. Service is always A+. Wish they would do away with Styrofoam for some of their takeout.

The owners are extremely friendly - as friendly as anywhere I've seen. That was a big plus. We stopped for lunch on the way from Sioux Falls to Omaha. I ordered the spicy noodles, expecting a khee mao / drunken noodle. It was a slightly different dish - egg noodles instead of rice noodles, a lot of cabbage. It was pretty good, not the best, far from the worst. I'd definitely come back if coming through as this seems to be one of the few reliable vegetarian options for an hour and a half either way, and because the owners really seemed like great people.

The only thing better than the food is the owner - he's so nice! I lived in Sioux City a few years ago and this was one of my favorite places to have lunch. The chicken pad thai is delicious... I used to get a small side of peanut sauce to drizzle over the top for a little added punch. A vegetarian friend got the curry and she loved every bite. I definitely miss this place!

I had my 1st experience with Diamond Thai and Thai food in general a couple of days ago. A coworker and I went there for lunch on a Tuesday shortly after noon. It was really good overall. My Beef Yellow Curry with a chosen level of medium spiciness was delicious. The service was very quick and friendly. The prices seemed perfectly reasonable. The restaurant was clean. If I have one complaint it is that they don't serve alcohol, so I would probably not choose Diamond Thai for a dinner out.

If you close your eyes and get past the decor that overwhelmingly needs to change this is one of the best Thai restaurants I have encountered. The owner and head chef was there to make sure I had everything I needed before I ate. Great food, great service. Very surprising for Sioux City, IA.

I love Thai food. Every time I order I get the same thing and when I ask for mine Native spicy they make it that way and I love it. My husband loves because they use good meat, it's not fatty. Ohhh. How much I love the banana donuts!!!!
